1st place for Tomáš Slavík

Tomáš Slavík was able to take a big win at one of the biggest European urban downhill races called Urban DH in Grasse, in the South of France. After an unlucky race in Mexico, where his bike arrived just a few hours before the race, causing unfortunate technical issues, it’s good to see him back on the 1st spot. Slavik set a new track record and was over 2 seconds quicker than the 2nd place rider.

“Wow! Just took first place at Urban DH in Grasse, France, which is one of the biggest European urban downhills. I have to say it was one hell of a challenge! The track was fast and wild, riders were pushing it big time, so I had to give it all I got! Left everything on the track and I’m so stoked to take 1st place for the 2nd year in a row! It’s been 5 years since I started to race at Urban races. I jumped into it with a full DH bike weighing over 18 kg, 200mm of suspension and I felt like it’s not enough. Now, 5 years later my bike is 13 kg, with one crown fork, 180/160mm suspension, super light components and looks more like my fourcross bike with just more suspension. It’s crazy how technologies and our skills are moving on, as are the limits of mountain biking… I’m loving these transformations! It was my first time racing on the single crown fork RockShox Lyrik 180mm, which is a great fit for my GHOST FR AMR. A big Thanks goes to the organizers for doing such a great job, to all riders for the amazing competition and to all French fans who were pushing us towards the finish line! Thank you France, Thank you Grasse!“
