It was Lisa’s passion for sports in general that lead her to the mountain bike sport. Her mother put her on a bike at the early age of two years because she was so fascinated by bicycles.
After moving to the countryside Lisa rode her first MTB race at the age of six, in her little home village in Lower Austria. Afterwards, she joined the club there. It was actually a skiing club, but spending a lot of time with skiing, running and other sports at that time, it was a great fit. Lisa attends a sports gymnasium (sports high school) and the support she gets there made it possible to focus more and more on biking with the years. Lisa also started to ride road and cyclocross races but it was always more for training purposes.
“The first time I participated at the Youth European Championships in the U15 category, I decided that riding mountain bike races professionally is something I'd really like to do“, she says. Though it took place in Austria it was her first international race and Lisa realized how much she likes the feeling of big events. Inspired by the feeling of winning the silver medal there, she has worked herself up to the junior category.
