Recap Swatch Nines 2025

From September 4 to 13, Germany and Austria turned into a two-wheeled state of emergency. The Swatch Nines MTB 2025 went off as the biggest, wildest edition of the legendary event to date – longer, larger, and crazier. Two spots, two worlds: first the Big Air madness at Green Hill Bikepark, then full-blown escalation in Sölden. What went down? New tricks by the minute, World’s Firsts on repeat, and lines that pushed the boundaries of what’s possible further than ever before.

Why GHOST Belonged Here

Freeride isn’t just a sideshow – it’s the heartbeat of the scene. And with the POACHA, our first true freeride machine, we wanted to be right in the middle of the chaos, the airtime, and the fire. As title bike sponsor, we weren’t standing on the sidelines – we were right in the arena. And our team? They lived everything this event is known for – from soaring highs to brutal DNFs.

Sam Hodgens – The Man Behind the Lines

Our rider Sam Hodgens didn’t just ride the lines – he helped build them. Green Hill, Sölden – he was one of the masterminds shaping the courses. Everyone who dropped in was riding Sam’s signature. Breaking his hand in Sölden was brutally bad luck – little riding time, but his impact on the event? Impossible to miss.

Justus – High with Superman, Low with Crash

In Green Hill, Justus was absolutely on fire. Superman over the kicker, the crowd went wild. But freeride is merciless: one crash, a broken shoulder blade – game over for Sölden. His hunger for the big finale? Sky high. The crash? Even harder. But that’s what defines riders like him – they come back stronger than they fell.

Christian Schriebel – Last Man Standing

When others had already pulled off their pads and packed away their bikes, Christian was just getting started. The announcer called: “Course is closed” – seconds later he corrected himself, laughing:

“Oh wait, Christian Schriebel is heading back up.”

That was Christian’s style: don’t stop until every last drop of energy is gone. In Sölden, he squeezed every line dry, sending every jump like there was no tomorrow.

And then came the Night Session: Christian dropped in with a real rocket strapped to his bike. Sparks, fire, pure adrenaline. But it wasn’t exactly easy:

“You’re charging into a completely black ramp. Sure, the lines were lit – but that last spark of safety is missing. And when it suddenly gets hot behind you, it feels pretty intimidating.”

A moment that says it all: no fear of darkness, no fear of heat, no fear of limits. Christian rides until the mountains go dark – and sometimes longer.

Trick Fireworks: Green Hill & Sölden

  • Green Hill: The Big Air kicker was built so nobody could land it “easy.” Within the first hour, combos were going off. Erik Fedko made history with a Double Backflip Nohander to Barspin. Chance Moore threw down a Backflip Whip 360. Kurtis Downs rolled in with a handwritten trick list – and ticked them off one by one.

  • Sölden: Next-level escalation. Freeride line, slopestyle features, even skate and BMX crews in the mix. Dawid Godziek with a Cashroll Windshield Wiper, Alma Wiggberg with a Backflip Barspin to One Foot Can. Chance Moore cleared the 18-meter kicker with a Backflip Tailwhip. Even the pros on the sidelines were speechless. Add in the Night Shoot – lights, pyro, pure insanity.

Riders Awards

The grand finale: Gala Night. Not just polite applause – real recognition from the scene. Harry Schofield, only 16, threw a Double Backflip on a kids’ bike (!) and took home the New Nine Award. Tomas Lemoine earned the Creative Edge Award for his unmistakable style.

Conclusion – This Was Just the Beginning

Swatch Nines 2025 was more than an event – it was a statement: freeride thrives on madness, creativity, and riders who won’t be stopped. GHOST was right in the middle of it all – not just with bikes, but with heart, blood, sweat, and yes… rockets.
