When her family thinks back to Sina’s first athletic endeavors as a child, nobody would have ever been able to guess that she would end up being a mountain bike athlete. When she was a young girl, Sina was taken with typical girl sports – ballet and gymnastics. “After a while, my brother took me with him to his soccer practices and I really liked the contrast.” It wasn’t until she turned 12 that the young Swiss discovered her sport, her passion – mountain biking. “Exercising outdoors experiencing nature, constantly learning new things and challenging each other – that’s what I just love about this sport.”
A short while later, Sina wasn’t content anymore to just bike by herself” I remember my first race very well. What I worried about most was that my endurance wouldn’t be good enough and that I would not be able to finish the race. I ended up being last, but still was very content with my performance.” Over the years, she built up her endurance and her success followed.
The three-time Swiss Champion title in MTB, Road and CycloCross, and the Bronze European Youth Championship Medal in Graz are just highlights of her successful Youth career. After graduating from school, Sina wanted to focus more on her MTB sport, but also her professional future and finished an apprenticeship.
