Bohemian Border Bash Race and Camp Recap 2023

Read about our past Events at the Bohemian Border Bash Race and Gravel Camp.

Bohemian Border Bash Race

Simultaneously to the Bohemian Border Bash Gravel Camp, the BBB-Race was held. The race is a single-stage ultra-endurance race. This means that participants must completely self-support and cannot accept assistance from third parties.

From sunrise on September 2nd to sunset on September 9th, participants have the opportunity to cover approximately 1300km with around 24,000 meters of elevation gain. In total, 6 mountain ranges along the old Bohemian border are conquered. Throughout the route, there are checkpoints that must be passed, serving as rest stops and refreshment stations for riders.

Our GHOST headquarter in Waldsassen was also one of the checkpoints during the 2023 race. It was a great experience to speak with people and bring them joy with good food and comfort with lounging chairs!

Eli from GHOST

"The Border Bash is an event for those who are passionate about gravelbiking! Seeing the ambition in the eyes of all participants has captivated me. Everyone pushes themselves beyond their limits, yet team spirit is never lacking. The perfect blend of athletic ambition and community. Also the landscapes are spectacular!"

Eli from GHOST

Bohemian Border Bash Gravel Camp

Another very cool event was the Bohemian Border Bash Gravel Camp in the Czech Republic. We were represented with the GHOST ASKET Advanced, which could be borrowed as a test bike. Together with our athletes Neza Peterca and Tobi Woggon, we offered various workshops on "Equipment Repair" and "Outdoor Kitchen." The workshops were a complete success!

The Gravel Camp is for those who love being outdoors, enjoy gravel biking, and want to connect with others from the gravel community.

What's next?

In 2024, we will once again be present at the Bohemian Border Bash Race and the BBB Gravel Camp. This year, GHOST is also participating in the Border Bash Gravel Camp Aragon in Spain. The camp takes place from April 18th to 21st in the northeast of Spain. The Border Bash Aragon Gravel Camp is not a race. Instead, it is a collection of Mixed-Surface rides that can be adjusted for all participants. Community such as shared meals, new friendships, and evening activities with like-minded individuals take center stage. Have we piqued your interest?
