It's January, marking the prime season for Urban DH races in South America, which are just kicking off. Season Kickoff

Reflecting on the race, Slavik endeavored to fine-tune his suspension and setup in pursuit of finding the optimal combination. He felt great about his power and endurance, even at the high altitude in Manizales. Despite a chain mishap in the qualifying run, he secured 3rd place and managed to further improve in his final run. However, a flat tire in the final moments cost him the top spot by a mere 0.38 seconds. Nonetheless, he is thrilled with his performance, considering the challenging conditions and the numerous rider injuries.

Tomas Slavik

"I haven't raced in Manizales for almost 4 years. The track is renowned for its brutal compressions and high altitude. With top riders from around the globe in attendance, everyone was pushing hard."

What's next?

It wasn't the ideal start to the new season, especially right before the Red Bull Cerro Abajo series, which kicks off in a few weeks. Nevertheless, Tomas is excited for the next stop in Valparaiso, Chile, on March 3rd. He is grateful and stoked to be feeling this good already!
